Computer-delivered IELTS, as name suggests, is delivered via computer, with more test dates and results within 5-7 days.
Similar to paper-based IELTS, CD-IELTS is being offered in two formats –Academic and General Training. It covers the same four modules Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking.
Listening, Reading and Writing components are delivered via computer.
The Speaking test remains same as that paper based IELTS, face-to-face, in a quiet room, with a real, human examiner.
All aspects of the test are identical to the paper-based IELTS test, including, question types, content, timings and marking.
In the test, a candidate will be provided with rough paper and pencil to make notes. In CD-IELTS, a candidate can skip questions and come back to them to complete or for cross-checking.
